Compact yet with big reel line capacity and durability, the CB153H is built specifically to the needs of the dedicated saltwater barra angler.The Coastal Barra is one of our toughest saltwater resistant reels available; its casts are effortless thanks to Centriflex and a free floating spool system. The spool is controlled by the saltwater proof Centriflex Anti Backlash System, this applies spool braking only at peak spool speed, where it’s needed most. So there’s less friction to hamper casting performance. It quickly adjusts to any skill level or conditions. The free floating spool is unlike other reels, where the pinion gear constantly rides the spool shaft, Daiwa’s unique system floats the spool independently on precision, stainless steel ball bearings. Because the pinion rides its own separate shaft, the spool spins freely, unhampered by gear train friction when casting.With all metal components anti-corrosion treated, the Coastal Barra will fight the affects of saltwater use with only minimal ordinary maintenance.
