A self confessed tackle junkie Simon loves nothing more than hitting the lakes and chasing bass in south east Queensland or walking the creeks of north Queensland chasing sooty grunter or jungle perch.
Inheriting his mother’s love of fishing when he was only five, Simon’s love of fishing has evolved from the bread and butter of whiting and flathead fishing to the thrill of luring for species such as bream, bass, mangrove jack, and sooty grunter.
An avid outdoor writer and photographer for over ten years Simon’s passion has seen him working in the fishing industry since 2004 as a Tournament Director and Editor with ABT (Australian Bass Tournaments), a job that takes him across the country and keeps him up to speed with the latest tournament techniques.
When not on the clock for Simon spends time with his young family, filming the occasional segment for The Fishing DVD (vol. 15, 18, 21, & 23), and heading north for his annual sooty grunter and mangrove jack fix.
