The CERTATE series offers a comprehensive lineup of items in 4 series. To help as many anglers as possible choose the one that best suits their fishing style, we’ve compiled a selection guide for the CERTATE, CERTATE HD, and CERTATE SW 4000/5000/6000 models.
We will introduce the selection criteria for the same size reel across different ranges, which can be confusing at times.
Choose the reel that suits you.

Choosing between CERTATE,
CERTATE HD, and CERTATE SW
The CERTATE and CERTATE HD are available in sizes 3000-5000, with the same body size, gear ratio, and spool diameter. The biggest difference between the two models is the rotational inertia due to the rotor material. While both are equipped with low-inertia air-drive rotors, the CERTATE, with its lower-inertia ZAION rotor, offers a long rotational response that allows for smooth reeling and precise stopping, and high sensitivity that allows you to detect even the slightest information from underwater.
On the other hand, the CERTATE HD’s aluminum rotor offers even greater rigidity and less deflection under load than a ZAION rotor. This allows for instantaneous power transfer under heavy loads, resulting in superior reeling performance. This makes fighting large fish and manipulating heavy lures or lures with high reel resistance more comfortable.
The CERTATE SW, designed specifically for saltwater fishing, differs significantly from the CERTATE and CERTATE HD models. While the three models have the same spool diameter in the 4000-5000 range, the CERTATE SW features a larger and thicker body and drive gear than the CERTATE and CERTATE HD, as well as a more powerful design throughout.
The power rating of the reels from lowest to highest is CERTATE / CERTATE HD / CERTATE SW.
Please consider your angling needs when choosing your new CERTATE series reel.
