Fundamental technology that supports strength.
Full metal (AL) monocoque body

The high-rigidity, full-metal (AL) monocoque body, molded from a single piece of aluminum, significantly reduces deflection under heavy loads. A large, threaded aluminum engine plate firmly supports the internal drive mechanism, ensuring tight gear engagement and minimizing power loss. Additionally, the elimination of screw holes on the body’s interior wall increases the internal space, allowing for the accommodation of larger drive gears. This breaks away from conventional two-piece structures using a body and body cover, achieving exceptional winding power, rigidity, and durability. This is the core technology behind the strength of the CERTATE series.

Born from the strongest sphere on Earth,
Air Drive Rotor / Power Drive Rotor

The rotors used in the CERTATE series feature a unique shape that appears as if carved out of a sphere. A sphere is not only a logical rotating body, but it is also the strongest shape on Earth, achieving both low inertia and high rigidity. The air drive rotors used in the CERTATE, CERTATE HD, and CERTATE SW 4000/5000/6000 models achieve low inertia while maintaining the necessary rigidity. Meanwhile, the power drive rotors installed on the CERTATE SW 8000/10000/14000/18000/20000 have increased their already sufficient rigidity while maintaining the necessary low inertia. As a result, both rotors achieve both high rigidity and comfortable operability.

MAGSEALED, Impenetrable waterproofing
and durability.

The durability and sustained rotation performance of the CERTATE series are protected by DAIWA’s proprietary waterproof and durable technology, MAGSEALED, which uses magnetic fluid. By placing it in the pinion* and line roller, two of the most critical areas for rotation, the CERTATE will remain tough and strong for years to come.

ZAION rotors combine high strength and lightness.

DAIWA believes that rotors on compact spinning reels should be lightweight. The rotors in the CERTATE series are made of ZAION, a special carbon material developed by DAIWA. While carbon materials are significantly lighter than metals, they are often perceived as less rigid. However, ZAION uses special technology to blend carbon fibers at a high density, ensuring the necessary strength. Furthermore, it boasts corrosion resistance that exceeds that of metal. The high level of both strength and lightness is why we use ZAION rotors.
