Eliminating the separate side‑plate means there are no seams or screws to flex under load. The MQ body is inherently stiffer and more rigid. This rigidity allows the reel to transfer every ounce of handle power into the drive gear, making it feel solid and powerful during retrieves.
Screwless design, improved sealing
Traditional screw holes can act as entry points for salt, sand and water. MQ reels don’t use any external screws; the engine plate threads directly into the body, creating a smooth, screwless exterior.
