Reel Service Process Overview
Keeping your reel serviced is important to maintain performance and extend its lifespan.
Step 1 — Submit Repair Form
Complete the online Reel Repair Form and select what you would like assessed:
- Service
- Repair
- Warranty Assessment
- Reel Health Check
If lodging a warranty claim, please attach proof of purchase.
Step 2 — Send Reel to Daiwa
Securely package your reel and include a printed copy of the submitted repair form.

Step 3 — Assessment & Quote
Once received, your reel will enter the service queue. A technician will assess the reel and provide a quote via phone or email before any work proceeds.
Step 4 — Return Shipping
After completion, your reel will be returned via Premium Express Post.
Service Options
Reel Health Check — $20
Quick maintenance option for reels in good working order.
This is not a full internal service. The reel internals will not be opened.
Includes:
- Drag service
- Handle knob service
- Line roller service
- Replacement of bearings in those areas if required (n.b does not include Magseal bearings)
Price includes parts and return freight from Daiwa.
Turnaround time: Approximately 3-5 business days.
Standard Reel Service — $40
Full internal service for standard reels.
Tournament / High-End Reel Service — $70
Full internal service for premium models.
Electric Reel Service — $100
Full internal service for electric reels.
Service Return Express Freight — $20
Service fee does not include parts or GST.
Turnaround Time
Current turnaround time is approximately 15–20 business days, depending on workload.
* Reels awaiting quote approval will be held for 2 weeks before being returned in “as is” condition if no response is received.
Important Notes
- Very old reel models, particularly pre-Magseal reels (generally pre-2010), may not be serviceable due to parts availability and risk of damage during disassembly.
- Reels purchased outside Australian authorised retailers or unsupported models may be returned without repair.
Spare Parts
Spare parts can be ordered directly through the Daiwa Spare Parts Order Form.
Typical turnaround time is 1–2 business days.
