TikTokSpangled perch are a small species of perch of the family terapontidae, and are widespread throughout northern inland and coastal Australia. They have an oval-shaped body, and are fairly broad laterally relative to their size. They are silver/grey or silver/blue in colour, with a white-coloured belly and have reddish/brown spots.They can reach over 30cm and close to 1kg, but are more common at around 15-20cm.
Spangled perch are an aggressive schooling species, making them very esy to catch. Small baits of live shrimp or garden worm fished under a small float is a simple but effective rig for this species.
