The release of Daiwa's new LT Concept heralds a new era in spin reel design and performance.

LT CONCEPT

Introducing ‘minimalist engineering’ in Daiwa spinning reels, our LT technology takes new reduced reel dimensions and makes them stronger than ever. A compact body design with tougher Digigear drive provide the perfect combination of lightness and toughness.

LT Concept is an evolution in design to suit the new generation of PE/braid lines for higher line and drag capacity, stronger gearing, improved handling and increased performance. LT Concept is:

* Lighter
* Tougher
* More Drag
* More Bearings

REEL SIZING

In the table below, you can see the size of the gaps between the old Daiwa sizes were varied. This used to work when monofilament line was the standard, but braided line has totally revolutionised fishing so anglers can use smaller reels much more effectively than they could before.

Our new LT sizing standardises the spool diameters and by expanding 4000 to 6000 like we’ve done in LT, we have a more logical sizing progression.

NEW SALTIGA SIZING GUIDE

While Daiwa’s new reel sizing was implemented with the introduction of the LT Concept it has has now expanded into Heavy-Duty saltwater reels with the release of the 20 Saltiga.

The new sizing is aimed to remove the confusion of having two different reels with the same size and completely different capacities (ie: Certate LT 5000 - PE 2/300m and 15 Saltiga 5000- PE5/300m).

As the new sizing is rolled out anglers will be able to compare reels accurately across our range of reels to find what will best suit their needs.

Daiwa’s new sizes will now span from 1000-20000. Below is the comparison between the new and old sizing.

15 Saltiga vs 20 Saltiga

MODEL SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE SIZE
15 SALTIGA 4500 5000 5500 6500 8000
20 SALTIGA 8000 10000 14000 18000 20000
