25 Saltiga DRD 14000 Spool Model
The DRD drag system is a completely new drag mechanism engineered to handle repeated runs from powerful fish over extended fights, while reducing wear, seizing, and performance loss in the high-drag range. Unlike traditional systems that rely on carbon washers, DRD uses a unique design featuring eight metal rollers mounted on a single metal plate. This helps minimise frictional heat, maintain consistent drag performance, and deliver durability more than five times greater than carbon washer systems*. Unlike traditional systems that rely on carbon washers, DRD uses a unique design featuring eight metal rollers mounted on a single metal plate. This helps minimise frictional heat, maintain consistent drag performance, and deliver durability more than five times greater than carbon washer systems*. It also enhances the smoothness of initial drag release, giving you more control from the very first run.
*Standard equipment on DRD14000, 18000–30000 models. When using the DRD14000 spool, the SALTIGA DRD Radiation Knob must be fitted separately. The LC-ABS SW spool system further improves casting performance through a two-stage tapered spool lip design. This reduces friction as line peels from deeper spool layers, delivering a smoother release and improved efficiency in the latter part of the cast. This is especially beneficial when using thicker lines, where spool diameter changes significantly during casting, contributing to an approximate 2% increase in casting distance*. *Based on manufacturer comparative testing.
