Brown trout are a salmonid native to Europe and intoduced to Australia in the mid-ninteenth century. They typically inhabit the fast-flowing streams, but can also live in lakes and dams. Brown trout can reach around 1m in length and roughly 20kg, however in Australia, stream fish are usually around the 30-40cm mark.
