The Murray cod is an icon of Australia and is popular with recreational fishers in South-Eastern Australia where it is often stocked into dams and lakes.Murray Cod are Australia’s largest freshwater fish and can grow to lengths of 180cm and 110kg in weight. However, they are commonly encountered in the 50-100cm range.
