Favourite Technique / Species / Fishing Style
One of my favourite styles of fishing would have to be wading through a river flicking lures around in shallow pools and runs chasing wild brown trout.
Angling Inspiration
Probably my earliest childhood memory of fishing was down at the entrance to the Yarra River chasing bream and flathead with my dad. Landing a small flathead that day had me hooked and I haven't stopped since.
My Local (Favourite Fishing Spot)
The Glenelg River in Nelson (Victoria) is a happy hunting ground for me to chase bream, estuary perch and mulloway. Lined with sandstone cliffs and caves, it is one of the most beautiful spots around the country.
Why I Fish
The challenge and the triumph, learning, relaxing and spending time with friends are just a few of the reasons why I fish.
Tournaments
I've always been an avid fan of fishing competitions and have competed in the ABT's BREAM and Vic BREAM Classics rounds for over 10 years now. I have had some top results and I've had some average ones, but I've learnt a lot and met some top people.
Favourite Fishing Moment
My most memorable day of fishing was out off Portland in Victoria's southwest, chasing around schools of yellowtail kingfish on the surface. My dad and I landed endless amounts of kingfish on a range of lures for hours, until we couldn't fight anymore.
